Obituary of Phillip F. Drinkwater

Phillip F. Drinkwater, Jr., passed away at age 79 on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at his home in Sewell, NJ after a long illness. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Anne and his children;Phillip F. Drinkwater III (Skip), Cheryl Loghry, Ronald Drinkwater, Sandra Christiansen, Ted Drinkwater, Marilyn Torowus, Amy Kirkwood, Don Drinkwater, and Dayna Francis, 27 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, brother Gerald H. Drinkwater and sister Carol J. Drinkwater. Weighing in at 265 lbs and 6' 4" in his heyday, Phil was large in stature but was so tender hearted and thoughtful of others that many called him a gentle giant. Phil took great pleasure in sharing special food treats with his family on special occasions. He was known to make personal sacrifices of all kinds for the comfort and happiness of his family. He was retired from Dupont Experimental Station in Wilmington, Delaware. A viewing and funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 259 Lambs Rd., Mantua NJ 08080, where Phil held many leadership positions, in particular, a leader in missionary service for many years throughout his life. Viewing 9 am – 10:45 am, and 11 am funeral service at same location. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park.
