Obituary of Sarah Elizabeth Groff

Sara Elizabeth "Beth" Groff (nee Scull), age 81 died on January 17, 2017. Beth lived in Pitman most of her life. She founded and operated Groff's Mill Pond Nursery in Glassboro with her husband. She retired in 1996 and began a new career as an artist (painter) in Ocean City, NJ where she enjoyed spending her summers. Beth was very active in the Ocean City Art League and Beacon's By the Sea. Sarah was an accomplished and celebrated artist (painter), often working in plein air along the eastern coast. Beth was known for her painting of seascapes and her paintings were awarded many prizes. Beth was also a member of the Pitman Untied Methodist Church. Survived by her husband of 59 years Raymond Wayne Groff, children Kimberly Ann, Julie Ann Ford, Raymond Wayne Jr., Amanda Beth Kantor and grandchildren Samuel Hugh Ford, Annie Elizabeth Ford, Allyson Marie Jones, Matthew Raymond Groff, Molly Claire Ford, Natalie Elizabeth McMillan, Taylor Anne Groff, Shannon Lee McMillan and Hannah Lee Kantor. Friends may greet the family on Friday after 5:30pm in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Memorial service will be at 7pm. Memories may be shared at www.kelleyfhpitman.com.
