Obituary of Jean Owens Keller

Camden on December 21, 1926, she was the daughter of G. J. "Tom" Sawyer and Mildred (nee Cunard) Sawyer. Jean resided in Pitman for 50 years, graduating from Pitman High School in 1945. She attended the First Baptist Church of Pitman where she taught Sunday School, was a deaconess and President of the Florence Sand Mission Society. Jean was a cousin of the Cunard family, famous for the Cunard Family Clowns. She was president of the W.C.K. Walls School P.T.A. She owned and managed the Little Red Hen Nursery School in Bridgeton, NJ from 1970-73. Jean moved to Rosenhayn in Cumberland County in 1978. She attended the Trinity United Methodist Church of Bridgeton for several years. She has been a member of the New Life World Outreach Church in Millville, NJ for many years. She served the Lord in many ways at New Life. In her early years, Jean enjoyed sailing her boat, horseback riding, helping her father on his pleasure boat, fishing, camping from Canada to Florida, and West, while raising four children. She is survived by her husband Wade; three sons; Keith Owens (Kathy), Jeffrey Owens, and Glen Owens (Janice) and her sister Nolah Fulk. Jean also has ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Linda North and her grandson Robert North. Friends may call on Monday from 6:30-8PM in the New Life Church, 201 Bluebird Lane, Millville, NJ 08332. Funeral service at 8PM. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10-11AM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Funeral service at 11AM. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park.
