Obituary of Salvatore Joseph Grillo

Salvatore Joseph Grillo, age 94 years of Glassboro, NJ, died August 31 at his home. Born in New York City, he was a graduate of Evander Childs High School and Manhattan College. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. Formerly of Demerest, NJ, he moved to Gulf Breeze, FL in 1981, and then to Glassboro, NJ in 2005. He was employed Controlled Engineering Products Co., Wittlesey & Whittlesey, and Hunt Chemical in Leonia, NJ as a Chemical Engineer until his retirement. He was an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, Assembly #2835 of Navarre, FL. Predeceased by his daughter Andrea Bernhardt. Survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Mendrala, children Mary McCrary, Theresa (Peter) Laird, Arthur (Sherry) Grillo, Barbara (Frank) Angelos, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Anna Murray. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30AM to 10:45AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 500 Greentree Road, Glassboro. Funeral Mass at 11AM.
