Jane Denmead, 90, formerly of Pitman and Wenonah, died peacefully at home on August 13, 2013, in San Diego, CA. Born in Orbisonia, PA, December 4, 1922, to Henry B. and Marion (Denison) Cooper, Jane graduated from Pitman High School in 1940, attended Cedar Crest College, and completed an aeronautical engineering program at Cornell University. She then was a draftsman for Curtiss-Wright in Buffalo, NY, and designed bombers used in World War II. She later graduated in education from Glassboro State College and taught in Washington Township. She enjoyed politics, birding, stargazing, genealogy, and watercolor painting. She is survived by her six children, Lucinda (Deborah Austin), Patricia Young (Earl), Martha Rose (Dan), Alexander, Henry (Vanessa), and David. She is also survived by her three sisters, Mary Jean Nelson, Carol Burkett, and Alice Wiechec, as well as by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
