Eunice N. Simpson (nee Roger), age 92, of Pitman, died suddenly on October 15, 2013. Predeceased by her husband Carl, an Air Force Veteran, she will be remembered as the loving wife of Carl, a caring mother to Roger and Helen and an energetic and feisty grandmother (Nana) to Melissa, Matthew and Ethan. Also, being the great grandmother (Nana) to Nicholas Carl and Rebecca Helen Poulson and Elijah Wade Evans and was proud and loved them all dearly. They always put a smile on her face and giggles too. She will also be remembered as an independent person with lots of determination, who left her country of birth, Australia during World War II. Her plans were to make a new home in the United States with her husband, Carl. She had fond memories of summers spent in Maine and in Cape May with her children, Roger and Helen. In addition, she will be remembered as an avid reader, pet lover and tennis fan. Her interest in Native American culture was very strong as seen by the many books and pictures she collected. Cooking and sharing homemade dishes were important to her, especially the preparation and serving of traditional English trifle at Christmas. Arrangements will be private at her request and donations on her behalf may be made to St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 51 N. Main Street, Mullica Hill, New Jersey 08062 or the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, 1200 Delsea Dr., Clayton, NJ 08312. Memories may be shared at www.kelleyfhpitman.com.
