Obituary of Alvin L. Milsted, Sr.

Alvin Leland Milsted, Sr., of Glassboro, died Saturday December 21, at his home. Born and raised in Paulsboro, he was a graduate of Paulsboro High School and has lived in Glassboro since 1953. He was veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy and received the Purple Heart. He was a machinist for E.I. DuPont Co., Repauno Plant for 40 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Glassboro for over 50 years, Clarksboro Lodge # 87 F&AM for 65 years, SCIOTS, Shriner's International, Royal Arch Joshua Chapter #51 for 60 years, Scottish Rite Consistory AASR for 64 years, Pitman VFW Post # 6469, the Eastern Star #149 Williamstown, and Tall Cedars of Lebanon #1. Predeceased by his wife Doris C. (nee Rowe). Survived by children Doral J. Lau (William), Linda Keith (Edward), Alvin L. Jr. (Deborah), grandchildren Kathleen Boone (Shawn), Gregory Keith (Jennifer), Edward Keith, Jr. (Katie), Tracy Ash (Jeffrey), Colleen, and Alvin L. Milsted, III, great grandchildren Eli and Nora Boone, and his companion Gladys Zinni. Friends may call on Friday, December 27 from 7 to 9PM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Masonic Service at 8PM on Friday. Visitation on Saturday from 10 to 11AM and Funeral Service at 11AM. Interment Manahath Cemetery.
