Obituary of John Jarvis

John Jarvis of West Deptford passed away on January 2, 2014 after a short illness. He was 95 years old. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Coles Jarvis, children, John L. Jarvis, Janice R. Ablett, Judith Luckenbach (Charles), James W. Jarvis (Jamie), step-children, Fred B. Reiter, Jr. (Evonne), Steven R. Reiter, David W. Reiter (Annette), Jeanne L. Reiter and Charles S. Reiter (Nicole). He had 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was also survived by 8 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren. John graduated from Purdue University with two degrees in Electrical Engineering, one in 1939 and another in 1949. John worked for a variety of firms, including RCA, Wheaten Industries, Prince Foods and Mannington Mills in Salem, NJ. He was an avid skier, fisherman and boater. John was a long-time member of the Rainbow Squares Club in Dorothy, NJ. He also loved to travel, especially to Europe to ski.
