Obituary of Charles J. Brett

Charles J. Brett, Sr. age 95 died on April 10, 2014 in the Vineland Veteran's Home where he lived for the past few years. He served as a Captain in the US Army from 1943-1945 during World War II. He owned and operated Brett-Harris Tires in Woodbury from 1969 until his retirement in 1985. Charles and his wife retired to Hobe Sound, FL where they lived for 18 years before moving back to Millville in 1998. He was a former member of the Woodbury Kiwanis Club. Charles was predeceased by his wife Marie J. (nee Lalli) and daughter Margaret "Peggy" Brett Harkins. He is survived by his sons Charles J., Jr. (Judi), Richard M. Sr. (Lynn), son in law Chuck and Margie Harkins, grandchildren Richard Brett, Jr., Jennifer Brett, Jessica Brett Kalbach, Elizabeth Brett, Maura Brett Vail, Brett Harkins, Aaron Talasnik, Claire Brett Campos, Patrick Harkins, Sara Talasnik DeLaurentis, Devin Brett, Sean Brett and many great grandchildren. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday 9:30-10:30am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ followed by a funeral mass at 11am in Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish (Our Lady Queen of Peace Church) Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ.
