Obituary of Samuel David Marrone

Samuel David Marrone, age 74, died on December 21, 2023. Raised in Deptford, Sam graduated from Deptford High School in 1967 where he excelled in baseball. An avid fisherman and Phillies fan, Sam lived in Pitman for 48 years. He started his career at Wanamakers in 1972 where he worked as a boiler engineer for 25 years, eventually retiring from Lockheed Martin in Moorestown in 2019. Sam loved being surrounded by his family, friends, and especially his animals, which he thoroughly spoiled. He never met an animal that he didn't like. Sam was an incredibly giving man who would go out of his way to lend a hand or bring you as much of your favorite thing as he could find. A deeply spiritual man Sam was a devout Christian who dedicated his life to God. He was a member of Word of Truth Ministry and spent many hours studying the Bible and hosting Bible studies. Predeceased by his daughter Elizabeth Maria, parents Mary (Menditto) and Frank Marrone, and brother Frank. Survived by his wife of 48 years Karla L. (DeVault), children Jennifer Marrone, Rachel (Rob) Revell, Samantha (Gabe) Cileone, sister Lois Gilson and niece Miranda (Scott) Riddle. Friends may greet the family on Thursday, December 28 from 9-11am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. The funeral service will be at 11am. Interment Bethel Cemetery.
