Obituary of John L. Jarvis

John "Jack" L. Jarvis, age 81, died on January 31, 2024. Born in Teaneck, NJ, and raised in Dumont, NJ, Jack graduated from Delaware Township High School in 1961. He served in the US Navy from 1961-1962. Jack formerly lived in Pennsauken, and Washington Twp and has lived in Little Egg Harbor for 30 years. He worked as a machinist for Delaware Valley Manufacturing in Cherry Hill. Jack loved being on the water. He loved boating, ice boating, canoeing and white water rafting. He enjoyed backpacking and hiking, dancing, camping, roller skating, snow skiing, and riding his motorcycle. Jack liked building train sets. Jack was also a HAMM radio operator under the call name KA2KQR and certified advanced scuba diver. He was predeceased by his parents Ruth Joan (Hein), and John A. Jarvis. He is survived by his children Krista Hewes-Wiseley and her husband Robert, John W. Jarvis and his wife Diane, and siblings Janice Ablett, Judy (Charles) Luckenbach, James (Jamie) Jarvis, Ivan (Karen) Amy, granddaughter Brielle E. Hewes and his beloved dog Bandit. Friends may greet the family on Saturday, February 10, 2024 after 9:30am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be at 11am. Interment private. Those desiring may make a contribution to the animal shelter/society of donor's choosing.
