Obituary of Anthony L Meduri

Anthony L. Meduri, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on February 14th with his family by his side. Anthony was born and raised in Paulsboro, graduating from Paulsboro High School in 1955. He and his wife Judith married in 1959 and moved to Pitman, where they raised their four children. Anthony worked for Travelers Insurance Company for more than 30 years, working as a regional director. After retirement, Anthony and his wife lived in Little Egg Harbor before moving to Princeton to live with their daughter, son in law, and family. Anthony was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. And while he was the beloved patriarch of his family, his positive impact went beyond his immediate family; He was a mentor and coach to so many, shaping countless lives in a positive way. In recognition of his impact on the Pitman community, Anthony was inducted to the Pitman Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2005. He was also a member and president of the Pitman Board of Education and was an adult education instructor at Glassboro High School. In retirement, he enjoyed cooking and gardening, but his favorite activities included attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Anthony is survived by his wife of 64 years, Judith (nee Hansen) Meduri; children: Anthony Jr. (Maureen) Meduri, Michael (Candice Le) Meduri, Judith (Edward) Apuzzi, and Steven Meduri; 10 grandchildren: Anthony III (Patty), Paul, Mary, Nick, Brianna, Carina, Lauren (Keane), Matt, Luke, Nicole, and one great-grandchild, Romy. He is predeceased by his parents Matteo and Mary Meduri, and his sister Catherine. Friends and family are invited to attend his viewings on Monday, February 19th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM on Tuesday, February 20th at the Kelley Funeral Home (125 Pitman Ave. Pitman, NJ). A mass will be held in his honor at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church (161 Pitman Ave. Pitman, NJ) at 11:00 AM on Tuesday. Entombment will follow at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, NJ. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may contribute to the Tunnel to Towers foundation in his memory (Tunnel to Towers Foundation).
