Obituary of Roger W. Austin

Roger W. Austin, Sr. age 84 died on May 6, 2014. He lived in Washington Twp over 58 years. Roger served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for Mobil Oil, Paulsboro for over 40 years, retiring as Lab Technician in 1985. During the late 1970's and early 1980's, Roger served as an Washington Twp. Special Police Officer. He was also a volunteer fireman with Hurffville Fire Dept. F.C. #1 and the Washington Twp Ambulance Assn. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed traveling. He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Claire I. (nee Gallagher), beloved father of Roger Jr. (Barbara), and loving grandfather of Roger III, John (Chrisha), Brittany (fianc David Dougherty), Christina and great grandfather of Rachel, Kyle, CJ, Jacob and Kyra. Friends may greet the family on Monday after 9am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be at 11am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park.
