Robert John Hadden, Jr, age 71 died on May 21, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family, following a hard fought battle with cancer. He lived in Pitman since 1977. Robert graduated from Pfeiffer University in North Carolina in 1964. He was a teacher in Bridgeton for four years and then taught at Hurffville Elementary School, retiring in 1996 after 28 years there. Robert was a member of the Melita Lodge No. 295 F&AM, Philadelphia. Bob was well loved by his former students, many of whom have continued to keep in touch with him. Bob loved working in the yard and spending time with his family. He is best remembered for his love of animals and his ability to find humor in everyday situations. He continued to make everyone around him laugh right up until the end. Survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Patricia E. (nee Beattie), children Susan, Robert III (Earn), brothers Tim (Pat), George (Pat), Jeff (Sue), David (Debbie) as well as many nieces and nephews. Even though Bob did not have any grandchildren, he considered Billy, Cooper and Emmi McCalley to be his grandchildren who he loved dearly. A celebration of Robert's life will be from 11am - 4pm on Sunday, May 25, 2014 in his home, 423 Hudson Ave, Pitman, NJ.
