Obituary of Anna Y. Geisler

Anna Y. Geisler (nee Yurgin) age 82 years, died Thursday May 30, at her home in Somers Point, NJ. Born in Rahway, NJ, she graduated from Pitman High School in 1949, and designed the class banner. She was selected as Miss Pitman and participated in a Miss Universe Contest. Her parents were the owners of the original Pitman Diner and her brother owned Dover Speedway in Dover, DE. Anna raced stock cars at the track in the 1950's. She moved to Ocean City in 1981 and Somers Point in 1998. She worked for over 20 years at the casinos as a hostess, retiring from the Claridge Casino. She was very proud of her Polish Heritage and her birth last name of "Jurgielewicz". She was predeceased by her brothers Peter, Ludwig and Leonard Yurgin. She is survived by her children Rodman "Jack" Geisler, Jr., and Valerie Geisler DiPalma, both of Ocean City, grandchildren Elsie and Dominique DiPalma, her Aunt Constance Simone of Westfield, NJ, her former husband Rodman "Jack" Geisler., Sr. of Woodbury, numerous nieces and nephews, and her cat "Thomas". Friends may call Wednesday from 9 to 11AM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Funeral Service 11AM. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
