Obituary of Kathleen L. Slack

Kathleen Loper Slack born January 20, 1951 died on October 9, 2012. Daughter of Edmund and Eleanor Loper. She married David Neal Slack on June 25, 1977. She was predeceased by her father Edmund Loper. She is survived by her husband, David Slack of Ewan, NJ, daughter Amy Slack of New York, NY, mother Eleanor Loper of Sewell, NJ, sister Linda Naphas (James) of Pitman, NJ, brother Thomas Loper (Lynn) of Wilmington, DE and sister Barbara Meisle-Loper (Robert) of Sewell. She was a graduate of Woodbury High School in 1969. Kathy was a special person. She was challenged much of her life with various medical issues, including a heart transplant in 1994, but always seemed to overcome each hurdle with a cheerful attitude and push on to enjoy herself. She worked various part time jobs from flower arranging to the front desk of a doctor's office. She was a talented calligrapher. She and David enjoyed taking trips along the east coast to explore spots off the beaten path. Her daughter Amy was always her focus of conversation. In her later years she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was active there as her health permitted. She felt the great love of God and saw her purpose on earth being met. Friends may greet the family on Saturday 9-10:15am in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1194 Kings Hwy, Pilesgrove, NJ 08098. Funeral service will be at 10:30am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park.
