Obituary of J. Redman Engle

J. Redman "Red" Engle, age 84 years, went home to his Lord on October 25 at Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Wash. Twp. Division. Born in Philadelphia, he was raised in Haddonfield and was a graduate of Westtown Quaker Boarding School. He attended Haverford College and Philadelphia Biblical College. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the 187th Airborne Division. Red was employed by Pitman Art Supply and was a member of the Faith Alliance Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder. He was a member of the Gloucester Co. Art League and an avid tennis player. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois J. (nee Hammel), daughters Jane (E. Craig) Adams and Carol Sue (Robert) Weinhardt, grandchildren Robert (Shawna) and Jay Weinhardt, Michele, Timothy (Katie), and Nathan Adams. Also survived by his sisters Nancy Morris and Edith Roberts, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ and on Thursday from 10 to 10:45 at the Faith Alliance Church, 423 Barnsboro Rd, Sewell, NJ.
