Obituary of Marion R. Schuler

Marion R. Schuler of Pitman, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on March 21, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband Mathias and daughters Janet and Betty Jean. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Lyn, and her daughter Susan Pam. A graduate of Brooklyn College, with a degree in Biology, Marion worked for a short time in New York City before relocating to Southern NJ when her husband became employed by DuPont. In the 1960's Marion began substitute teaching and was hired by Washington Township to teach high school biology. She taught for 14 years, retiring in 1980. During her time in Pitman, Marion was involved with the Girl Scouts, Pitman PTA, and First Church of Christ, Scientist. In 1996, she became a member of the Pitman Presbyterian Church and had been active as a lay reader and with the Nominating Committee, Usher Committee, Worship Commission, and the Presbyterian Women's Group. She was an avid fan of the Phillies and enjoyed participating with bridge clubs. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Pitman, 10 Wildwood Avenue, Pitman, NJ.
