Dr. Frederick Douglas Breslin, age 91 died on December 11, 2011. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving from 1942-1945. Dr. Breslin graduated in 1950 from Queens College, NY and received his Doctorate from New York University in 1956. He began his career as a Professor in Psychology at the University of Chicago and also worked at the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse. In 1960 he moved to Pitman and taught at Rowan University until his retirement in 2000. Dr. Breslin also had a private psychology practice in his home. He was a former member of the Licensing Board of Psychologists for the State of NJ and member of St. James Lutheran Church, Pitman. In 1982 he received the Four Chaplains Legion of Merit Award for his volunteer work. Dr. Breslin also administered school testing in Salem County and South Harrison Twp. Schools. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years Helen Jane (nee Coleman), Survived by his sons John and Bruce and sister Constance Quinn. Friends may greet the family on Thursday after 6:30pm in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be at 8pm.
