Obituary of Erma M. Martin

Erma M. Martin (nee Gaston), age 90 went to be with the Lord of February 19, 2012. Born in Pottsville, PA, she grew up in Schuykill Haven and Reading, PA. She was a 1939 graduate of Reading High School. She worked at Berkshire's Mfg. Co. in Reading making nylons and during WWII making parachutes and other war products. In her later years she worked for Methodist Hospital in Phila, PA for over 26 years. She lived in the Oak Valley section of Deptford, Pine Hill and in 1999 moved to Pitman. She was a member of the Pitman United Methodist Church and volunteered for the restoration of the Pitman Theater. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Martin, Sr. and survived by her children Joseph F. Martin Jr. (Gail) of Pitman, Rose Marie (Tom) Supplee of N. Wales, PA; sister Vera Leed of Ephrata, PA; and her grandchildren Paul, Joe, Denise, Kelly, Kristy and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Friends may greet the family on Saturday at the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ starting at 10am. Funeral service will be at 11am and interment Manahath Cemetery.
