Dorothea "Dot" S. Scott (nee Stavrou), age 78 of Sewell, NJ died on April 14, 2012 at the Terraces of Park Place Assisted Living. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was a graduate of Simon Gratz High School in 1951 and attended Temple University. Her family was Albanian Orthodox. In 1956 she married the late John F. Scott and resided in Ridley Park, PA until moving to Glassboro in 1961. Dot moved to Sewell in 2000. She was a home maker until John's death in 1973 when she became a secretary. She worked for Glassboro State College, Ecko Products in Clayton, and FMC Corporation in Philadelphia where she was an Administrative Assitant for 18 years, retiring in 1999. Dot was an active member of the Church of Good Shepherd in Pitman. She served as Warden for two years, acting church treasurer for one year and was Director of Lay Ministry for 25 years. She was also an active volunteer in the Auxiliary gift shop at Kennedy Hospital, Washington Twp. Dot loved her family and enjoyed spending many summers at the Jersey shore. She traveled to the Bahamas, Spain, Italy, England, Wales, Scotland and Mexico. An avid reader, she also appreciated the fine arts, especially music and theatre. She is survived by her children Wendy Maple of Fishers, IN and her husband Mark, John Scott of Perkasie, PA and his wife Barbara, sister Pamela Dove of Frederick, MD and her husband Dennis, brother Barry Stavrou of Warminster, PA and his wife Christine and grandchildren Katie and Becky Scott and Gil and Andrew Stamm. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday 7-9pm and Thursday 1-1:45pm in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Burial Office and Eucharist will be Thursday at 2pm in the Church of the Good Shephers, 315 Highland Terrace, Pitman, NJ 08071. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Church of the Good Shepherd at the above address.
