Please share a memory of Alice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Brown, Alice M. nee Regensburg, age 58, passed away Thursday after a long battle with cancer. Alice went home to our Lord, where her shining star will forever brighten our lives. Her compassion, integrity, great laugh and quick sense of humor touched all who knew her. Alice was fond of everyone, going out of her way to help anyone in need. She was quick with a joke or a smile, and did her best to brighten everyone's day. She will truly be missed by all. Alice is survived by her husband Paul, her children Meredith and Cpl. Christopher (USMC), sisters Christine (Alan) Robbins, and Dorothy (Butch) Bruner Jr., sisters-in-law Deborah Benson, and Constance (Dr. Mark) Ross, and many nieces and nephews. Beloved daughter of Ruth Regensburg and late Dr. George Regensburg. Alice was truly a Jersey girl: she was born in Trenton, raised in Glassboro, and spent the remainder of her life in Mantua twp. She graduated Glassboro High School, class of 1970, Rider University, class of 1973 with an A.A in Secretarial Science. She also graduated from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) class of 1982 with a B.A. in Communications. Alice strove to improve peoples' lives-she was a dedicated wife and mother, and went back to work, where she found her true passion helping children. For nearly 10 years, she was a teacher's aide for T-1 (transitional first grade) at J Mason Tomlin School and later Center City School, both in Mantua. Alice made it her mission to reach out to children and help them be their best. She had previously worked as a secretary in Philadelphia, and her grammar skills and typing could not be matched. A celebration of Alice's life will be held on Monday from 7-9pm in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ, and on Tuesday from 10-10:45AM in the Church of St. Bridget, Church St., Glassboro, NJ. Funeral mass will be at 11AM. Interment Eglington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
