Emma Smith (nee Copple), born March 24, 1934 was called home to the Lord on June 7, 2012. She was surrounded by her family. Emma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, lived in Sewell, NJ from 1960 until 2001, then moved to Pittsgrove, NJ until 2005. She then resided at Bishop McCarthy Residence in Vineland, NJ until her passing. Emma loved taking care of her home and family and enjoyed being a waitress at Will's restaurant in Pitman, NJ for many years.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Elizabeth, and brother John. Emma is survived by her husband James Sr., sons James Jr. (Cynthia), John (Jessie), daughters Deborah (Chris) Weber, Sandra (Bill) Sutherland, Michele (John) Kiernan, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sister Elizabeth Fink and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 7-9pm and Wednesday 10-11am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park.
