Roberta H. Erichson (nee Hitchner), age 94 died on June 24, 2012 at her home in Pitman. A resident of Pitman since 1924, she was a graduate of Pitman High School in 1936 and Glassboro State Teachers college in 1940. Roberta was an elementary school teacher in Pitman. She was a member of the Pitman United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 25 years, member and former Treasurer of the Ellen Usinger Sunday School Class and the Gloucester County Historical Society. Roberta was also a member and former Secretary of the Dare Family Assn, secretary of the Chrysanthemum Society of South Jersey, Ranch Hope Auxiliary and the Pitman Manor Auxiliary.
She was the wife of the late Edwin C. Erichson, III. Survived by her daughter Mary Ann (Steven) Stepp of Pitman, grandchildren John, Kelly and Stacey and her beloved cat Pippy.
Friends may greet the family on Thursday after 9:30am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be at 11am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memories may be shared at www.kelleyfhpitman.com.
