Jacob "Jack" Rubin, age 89 died on July 9, 2012. Born and raised in Gloucester City, formerly of Paulsboro, he lived in Mantua since 1975. Jack was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran serving from 1942-1945 in Japan, China, Burma and India. Jack owned and operated Jack R's Fireside Restaurant in Pitman for over 25 years. With his brother, he also owned and operated a grocery store in Paulsboro on Delaware St., a luncheonette on Broad St. and a restaurant in Mantua for over 40 years. He was a member of the Paulsboro VFW, Pitman Lodge #197 F&AM, the Consistory of Southern NJ and the Crescent Shriners in Westhampton, NJ. He is survived by his wife Joan A. (nee Konzik) and nephew Robert Morris. Friends may greet the family on Friday 10:30-11:45am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave. Pitman, NJ. Masonic Services 11:45am.
