Thomas "Tom" Vernon Sager, of So. Harrison Twp, age 83 years, was born on September 15, 1934 in Mt. Holly, NJ, to parents Vernon and Dorothy Sager and passed away, peacefully, on August 23 after a brief illness. Tom graduated from Pitman High School in 1953 and excelled in baseball. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-56 in Germany as a radio operator. He worked for U.S Dupont Corp. for 31 years. During that time, he served on the So. Harrison Twp. school board and was finance officer for many years. Tom is survived by his former wife, Barbara Sager, and by his dear friend of 23 years, Carol E. Gilcher of Naples, Florida. Tom was a person of many interests; American history, model trains, carpentry (he built his own house), sports, reading, and in later years, European travel.
Friends may call on Saturday, Sept. 1 from 2-3pm in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Memorial service at 3pm.
