Obituary of Betty Jean Schuler

Betty Jean "BJ" Schuler, age 61 years, passed away September 1, 2012 in loving company at her home in Pitman. She was born in Camden and has lived in Pitman most of her life. BJ was a graduate of Pitman HS in 1969, Hood College with a BA in Biology, and Rowan University with an MA in Environmental Sciences. She taught high school biology in Delaware, Medford NJ, and for 30 years in Washington Twp. retiring in 2010. BJ was an active member of the Pitman Kiwanis Club recently serving as its President, she was an avid golfer and a member of the Pitman Ladies Golf Association (two holes in one to her credit), and she was a masters swimmer at Rowan University and competed in many ocean swims at the Jersey shore. BJ enjoyed playing bridge regularly with her bridge club and enjoyed her book club meetings. BJ is survived by her companion of eighteen years Thomas Krug, her mother Marion Schuler, her brother Robert and his wife Lyn, and her sister Susan. She was an active member of the Pitman Presbyterian where a Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Friday, September 14th at 11:00AM.
