Obituary of Alfred Eugene Schenkel

Alfred Eugene Schenkel, age 90 died on November 5, 2013. Raised in Pitman, Alfred lived in Richwood most of his life. He served in Europe during World War II in the US Army. Alfred was a welder at Texaco in Westville, retiring in 1985 after 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #452 Mullica Hill, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Virginia M. (nee Clendining), sons Walter P. (Annette), Gary E. (Cheryl P.), grandchildren Lauren, Cari and Brandon Schenkel and Erin Pettit and great grandchildren Leah and Travis Pettit. Friends may greet the family on Saturday after 1pm in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Memorial service will be at 2pm. Private interment for family in Richwood Cemetery.
