Obituary of Elizabeth M. Korba

Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elizabeth "Liz" Korba (nee Schultz), age 60, of Glassboro passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019 after a very brave fight with cancer. Born in Haverford, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Elizabeth Schultz of Yeadon. Liz was married in November 1993. She was a graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School (1977), and Villanova University (Honors Program), Magna Cum Laude, Dean's Award (1981). She also received an M.A in Educational Administration in 1986 at Villanova. She spent her early years teaching 2nd grade at Saint Eugene in Primos and then at Holy Spirit Elementary School in Sharon Hill. She later went on to be the Director of Learning at Britannica Learning Center in Narbeth followed by many years working as a Pastoral Associate at Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Darby PA. After living in Switzerland for a couple of years in the 1990s she developed an appreciation for the problems faced by people new to a country. She then decided to dedicate her life's work to ESL, and taught in various programs within South Jersey. She also was a very active volunteer at the Brandywine Museum in Chadds Ford and was very involved in their "critter" program. Liz's talents for entertaining, gardening, sewing, and writing have given all those who knew her memories they will forever cherish. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Steven (Nancy Schiller), and is survived by her husband Bill, and her siblings: Regina Davison (Paul), Norman Schultz (Anne), Margaret Waldschmidt (David), and Marie Szymanek (Frank) and her mother in law Betty. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews as well as by many dear friends, neighbors, and students. She was a member of Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish in Pitman/Glassboro. ?Friends may greet the family on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 9-10:45AM in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral mass will be at 11am in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church (Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish), Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Liver Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Memoires may be shared at www.kelleyfhpitman.com.
