Obituary of Leona C. Mathis

Leona C. Mathis, age 81 died on November 9, 2013 at her home in Pitman surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Woodstown, and a graduate of Woodstown High School, she lived in Pitman most of her life. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Pitman. Leona also was a former volunteer for Fig Leaf in Pitman. Leona was an accomplished seamstress. She loved antiquing, reading, touring Colonial homes, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was the wife of the late Eugene V. Mathis, Jr. Survived by children Anne E. Mathis of Pitman, Eugene V. III (Debbie) of Warminster, Carol M. Knob of Pitman, grandchildren Meg (Bill) Flynn, Holly Schoenberg, Gabriel Mathis, Jorge Mathis, Lauren Knob, great grandson William C. Flynn, sister Doris Carll, Gladys Jarvis, Carolyn Carney and brother Walter Coles. Friends may greet the family on Thursday after 9am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ.
