Obituary of Rose Mae Lam

Rose Mae Lam (nee Blais), age 86, died on September 15, 2021 at her home in Parke Place, Sewell where she lived for 3 years. Rose formerly lived in Pitman over 49 years. Rose was born in Minnesota, moved as a young girl to Rockford, Illinois with her family who operated a local trailer rental business. She graduated from Muldoon Catholic High School and attended Northern Illinois College where she graduated with a degree in business education and French language. After graduating from college, she taught business courses for three years while waiting for her (then) fiancé' Lane to complete his military service. She was an active member of the Pitman Women's Club, the Pitman Garden Club and Our Lady Queen of Peace Church for many years. She enjoyed reading and playing bridge. She worked as a substitute for the Pitman school district; office manager for a local physician and ended her career as a secretary for Sony Music. As a retiree, she enjoyed travel with her husband, especially western parks in both the US and Canada and spending time with her grandchildren. Rose was predeceased by her daughter Lauren Craver and brothers Lewis and Eugene Blais. Rose is survived by her husband of 63 years Lane L. Lam, children Alan (Valerie) Lam, Carolyn Rutsky, grandchildren Nicholas and Nathan Lam, Steven and Rachael Rutsky, great grandchildren Anna and Roxanne Lam, sister Sharon (Flavio) Posse, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Rose held a special place in her heart, as well, for Colette and Marcelo Posse. Friends may greet the family on Sunday 7-9pm and Monday 10-10:45am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral mass will be Monday at 11am in Mary Mother of Mercy Parish, Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Pitman Ave, Pitman. Interment Gloucester County Veteran's Cemetery.
