Augusta KS HS Class of 1959 fondly remembers Thurman through our sophomore year of high school. He & Barb attended one of our reunions, & we enjoyed reminiscing with him.

Barbara and family, so sorry to learn of Gus’s passing. We so enjoyed our days rving all over the country with you, Gus and our Vogue club members. Gus was always the best guide in our travels and not afraid to venture out into new territory. We have great memories of our time together and pray these memories will comfort you. Love to all.

So sorry to hear, but fond memories of working together on the hydrogen processing pilot units in Paulsboro. I was a young engineer and Gus taught us a lot about how they worked. Suffice it to say, Gus and I had a special bond.

I remember when Gus was the new kid on the block, but it did not take him long to assimilate. I recall cruising around town with the guys in his father's fancy Ford Galaxy. Gus was one of first in our class to get his driver's license. I also remember all those years in the 60's and 70's and maybe even the 80's when I would come home to Pitman to visit my parents at 200 Columbia Avenue for the 4th of July. The fire trucks would be parked in front of the house, lined up for the parade, and Gus and Bob Govett would join me at my dad's basement bar for a couple of beers. When the trucks started their engines, they would run out and jump on board. Did not actually see a parade for years but always enjoyed those good times. I think probably everybody enjoyed Gus. I am so sorry for your loss, Barbara. He was a remarkable guy.

Barbara and family, I send my deepest and heartfelt condolences on Thurman's passing. Many thoughts passed through my mind of my interactions with Thurman, good they were but our being in the cast of our Jr. play was foremost. I really got to know his unique personality and his great sense of humor. May the Lord be with you at this time and in the future. Your memories will always be there to cherish......Paul and Linda Coffman / Omaha, NE

When you arrived in our lives in Pitman you brought your unique style; one that will not ever be forgotten.

Rest in Peace.
