Obituary of Elsie Barbara Taraska

Elsie Barbara Taraska (Hon) age 81, died on June 25, 2022. Barbara lived most of her life in Pitman and graduated from Pitman High School in 1958. Barbara was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Pitman where she was a member of the choir and Rosary Alter Society which she served as the Treasurer and on several committees. Barbara became a Eucharistic Minister in 1990 and served communion to residents of the Pitman Manor. Barbara served as co-chairperson for the Pitman High School All Sports Banquet for many years. While her children were younger, Barbara served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and Cookie Mom. She enjoyed attending swim classes at the Gloucester County YMCA, bowling and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Taraska, parents Elsie (Stumper) and William Geyer, and brother William Geyer Jr. Survived by children Robert (Allison), Jr., Deborah Taraska (Sara Walls), Christine (Aaron) Crispin, grandchildren Jake, Cory, Brent, Dani, Chase, and Jack, siblings John Geyer, Nancy Doty, David Geyer, Howard (Donna) Geyer and many nieces and nephews. Friends may greet the family on Friday 6-8pm and Saturday 9:30-10:30am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral mass will be at 11am in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church (Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish), Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Interment Gloucester County Veteran's Cemetery.
