Please share a memory of Gwendolyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gwendolyn J. Krause, of Pitman, passed away peacefully at the age of 95, on January 23, 2023. Gwen was born on April 2, 1927 in Scranton, PA, to Richard and Mary Ann Jones. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Vineland, and Church at the Crossroads in East Orange, NJ, before retiring to Clearwater, FL. Whichever church she attended, Gwen was active in ministries, especially children's, women's and Sunday School. After high school, Gwen was a telephone operator for NJ Bell. That experience served her well as she had part time operator jobs at the Vineland Training School and an answering service in Newark. Later in life, her love of numbers gained her a statistician position at MCA. But her greatest pride came from being a wife and mother. After moving to Florida, Gwen reconnected with her Welsh heritage. She and Ed both enjoyed the Gulfcoast St. David's Welsh Society, where Gwen was membership chair for many years. Known for having a smile for everyone, Gwen was a kind and gentle soul, loved by all who knew her. She and her gift of hospitality made the Krause home the focal point for many gatherings of friends and family. There was always "room for one more" at Gwen's table. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 50 years, Edgar Krause, her parents, sister, Elizabeth Nichols, daughter-in-law, Janis Krause and her grandson, Trent Seibert. She is survived by her children, Suzanne (Gary) Seibert of Pittsgrove, Richard of Bigfork, MT, Patricia (Donald) Carlberg of Woodinville, WA, David (Barbara) of Northfield, NH, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date.
