Obituary of Frances H Carter

Frances Carter (Hurff) Frances H. Carter died at the age of 89 surrounded by her family on January 31, 2023. Frances was born on her family farm in Deptford Township, NJ, on September 27, 1933. Her family later moved to Hurffville. Frances attended Glassboro High School and graduated in 1951. In May 1954, she married Clinton D. Carter Sr. and they resided in Pitman. Frances traveled with Clinton to many parades, concerts, and festivals including two trips to Europe, supporting the Pitman Hobo Band, which Clinton was a founding and life member. She always looked forward to the Hobo Band summer concerts at Sunset Auditorium; many camping trips and summers by her pool with friends and family. As a country music fan, Frances made several trips to Branson during the holiday season where she enjoyed concerts and holiday light shows. She retired from Pitman Manor after many years of service as a bookkeeper and receptionist. Frances is predeceased by her husband Clinton in 1993, and brother, Myron Hurff. She is survived by her three children, Clinton Carter, Jr. (Kathy), Cynthia Bill, and Cheryl Edmunds (Scott). She was Grammie to six grandchildren, Zachary Baer (Jennifer), Clinton Carter III (Christina), Michelle Sees (Matthew), Aaron Baer (Joelle), Daniel Edmunds and Traci Edmunds, as well as her great-grandchild Ezekiel Sees. Also survived by her brother, Wayne Hurff (Karen) and sister, Ruth Wescott. Friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, February 11 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM (Noon). Funeral service at 12:00PM. Interment Manahath Cemetery.
