Obituary of Raymond Gardiner

Raymond W. Gardiner, (66) of Pitman, NJ, died from advanced prostate cancer on July 7, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Norman W. Gardiner and Helen M. Gardiner of Turnersville and his nephew, Anthony Iannuzzi of Gibbsboro, NJ. He is survived by his wife, Dori L. Gardiner (nee Lyles) of 33 years, 2 daughters, Ali Gardiner and Marina (Jim) Dattilo and son Nicholas Gardiner, grandchildren Adriana (7) and Jimmy (4) Dattilo, sister Terry (Tony) Iannuzzi, brother Joseph Gardiner and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. In his young life, Ray was a union painter who loved riding motorcycles, driving fast cars and chasing girls! After settling down, he enjoyed watching his children play sports, perform in theater and music concerts, travel the world, become parents and pursue their own dreams. He started his own painting business, where he took pride in beautifying people's homes and forming longtime friendships! He loved camping with the Cherrystone Gang and was known for his coffee making skills where he earned the nickname "Rookie" by his friends. As a "Poppi", he loved playing with his grandkids and watching the Phillies games with his grandson Jimmy! But what Ray loved most of all was his children. Although he faced many personal struggles throughout his life, he had the mental fortitude and strength to overcome them with the love and support of his family. Anyone who knew Ray knew that his children were his greatest achievement. A celebration of his life will be held at the Gardiner home on Saturday, July 15th from 1-4 pm, rain or shine.
