Obituary of Mary Ann Gohr

Mary Ann (Booth) Gohr, aged 73 years of Pitman, NJ, passed away on August 4th at Jefferson Hospital in Washington Twp. Mary Ann was born on December 28, 1949 to the late James Robert Parker and Mary Ann Booth in Detroit, MI where she was raised with her sister, the late Christine Wieden. Mary Ann started her higher education at Michigan State University and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University in Child Development/Education. Mary Ann lived in Athens, OH, before moving to Bensalem, PA, where she taught at Immaculate Conception School in Levittown. In the early 80's, Mary Ann met her soon to be husband, Frank B Gohr. In 1984, she and Frank moved to Pitman, NJ and got married in 1985. Both Mary Ann and Frank were employed by the Root Candle Company for many years. Mary Ann loved reading books, doing crossword puzzles, and researching her ancestry. Above all, Mary Ann's favorite activity was being with and bragging about her beloved grandchildren. Mary Ann was predeceased by her parents, her sister and her adoring husband of 30 years. Mary Ann is survived by her children; Kevin (Krista) Wehlen, Joseph (Phebe) Wehlen, Christopher (Gerald Rosenbaum) Gohr, and Lisa (Matthew LaMar) Gohr, her nephew Robert (Yadhira) Wieden. Also survived by her grandchildren; Madyson, Maya, Megan, Joseph IV, James and Elise Wehlen, step grandchildren; Olivia and Adam Cooper, and many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was a member of Mary Mother of Mercy Parish at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, where she taught CCD classes. She was active in Boy Scout Troop #55 and the Sketch Club Players. Friends may call at the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ, on August 26 from 11:30AM to 12:30PM. Memorial Mass at 1:00PM at Mary Mother of Mercy Parish, Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 161 Pitman Ave. In lieu of flowers, Mary Ann asked that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www2.jdrf.org/site/Donate.
