Obituary of William Francis Wilson IV

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William F. Wilson IV (Bill) 79 of Glassboro, NJ, passed away on November 8, 2023 at Jefferson Hospital in Sewell, NJ. Bill was born in Camden, NJ on April 21,1944, and was the oldest child of the late Agnes and William F. Wilson III. Before joining the Army he worked as a carpet/flooring installer and at Hoeganaes Corporation in Delran, NJ. Bill is survived by ten (10) children. He is the proud father of Therese Wilson, William Wilson V, Krista Rankine (Ronald), Tonya Boyce (Dennis Jr.), Christopher Wilson, Nicholas Wilson, Sara Wilson, Molly Wilson (Adrian), William Wilson VI and Scott Wilson. Bill is preceded in death by his wife Michele Wilson (nee Davis), and his son Brian. Bill is also a proud grandfather of thirteen (13) grandchildren, Kayla, Richard, Gillian, Katelyn, Kimberlee, Chloe, Kasey, Nasir, Emma, Dennis, Milani, Navee, Adriana and great grandfather of Ciara and Aubree. Bill is the best big brother and friend of Alexander Wilson and Agnes Wilson and will be missed by his four-legged companion Hogan, a.k.a. Hogy. He will be remembered as always being fun-loving and quite the character. He could often be found joking, laughing, singing and "tapping a beat on the steering wheel" to a song playing on the car radio. He especially enjoyed James Taylor and Cat Stevens, and anything country. His favorite song as a young teenager was 'Sixteen Tons". Bill loved doing things with his kids, especially taking karate classes with them. He loved to travel and traveled extensively through Europe while stationed in Germany. He also loved to visit and explore any historical site as he was quite a history buff. He will also be remembered for family road trips through the Pennsylvania Countryside, climbing rocks at St. Peter's Village, and whether you volunteered to listen or not, he would always fill you in on all of the characters of TV shows or movies he watched (even if you never saw or heard of the show) as well as how he would've handled each 'tv dilemma' differently. Bill would help anyone in need if he had the means to do it, even it if meant he had to make a personal sacrifice. He would say he was taught this growing up, and he believed if he could help, he should. He also loved telling the many stories of his life's events. And there were many! One, few people know about, as a teenager, he saw a serious accident. The car was upside down, gas was leaking and the car smoking. Not being a big guy, Bill wiggled in the window and pulled the man out before the car caught fire. Bill was this country's No. 1 patriot. Next to his family, Bill's biggest passion was his thirty (30) years of service in the U.S. Army. No matter where he was or what the conversation was about, he would manage to start telling the many, many, many stories about his military career. He would tell these stories to family, friends, and strangers. Bill always made it clear how much he loved & cared about you and was always able to make you giggle (because he was always giggling). Bill will be missed more than words can ever express and loved more than imaginable. He will forever be in the hearts of his family and friends guaranteeing he will be with us forever. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the healthcare professionals in the ICU at Jefferson Hospital in Sewell, NJ for the care and compassion shown to Bill and his family.
