Obituary of John James Ambacher

John J. Ambacher "Jamie", age 63, passed away peacefully in his home with his wife and daughter by his side on March 17, 2024. Born in Cape May Courthouse Jamie was raised in Glassboro graduating from high school in 1978. He spent most of his summers at his grandmothers Wildwood shore house, it was in Wildwood where he met the love of his life Karen. Jamie went on to graduate from Rowan University with a degree in Education. Jamie lived in Pitman while he was teaching at Pleasant Valley Elementary School in Mullica Hill. After retirement he and his family moved to Franklinville on Iona Lake. Jamie loved spending time on Iona Lake. He also loved gardening, painting and playing the piano. Jamie loved being a teacher and helping kids learn and grow in their youth. He was affectionately called Mr. A by all of his students. He was predeceased by his father Richard J. Ambacher and his beloved grandmother Zeda Bonelli. Survived by his wife Karen Evans of 31 years, his daughter Emily Ambacher, his mother Elaine Ambacher, his brother Richard (Marge) Ambacher, his nieces Katie, Liz, Alissa Ambacher and Georgia and Samantha Gibson, cousin Jonathan Bonelli, mother in-law Pamela Evans, sister in-law Julie Gibson, brother in-law David Evans, and his faithful dog Carter. Friends may greet the family on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 9:30 AM at the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave. Pitman, NJ 08071. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM.
