Obituary of A. Philip Debus

A. Philip Debus, age 79 died on September 25, 2012. A 1951 graduate of Merchantville HS, Phil served in the US Army from 1952-1954. Phil lived in Pitman since 1960. He earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel University in 1961, and worked for Hungerford and Terry Inc. in Clayton for 35 years, retiring in 1992. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed working in the yard, traveling, reading, dancing, hiking and watching his granddaughters grow. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Elsie J. (nee Bussemer), daughters Jill (Ted) Brown, June Christoff, grandchildren Laurel, Melissa and Annaliese Brown, brother Paul Debus, sister Ruth Johnson and 11 nieces and nephews. Friends may greet the family on Sunday after 6pm in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Memorial service will be at 7pm.
