Obituary of Ellen S. Martin

Ellen S. Martin, age 95, passed away peacefully on May 7th at her residence in Sewell, NJ. She grew up in the Olney section of Philadelphia. Along with her twin sister, she attended Charles E. Ellis School for Girls in Newtown Square, PA. She worked for the US Agricultural Dept for 36 years before moving to Sewell, NJ in 1998. After retiring from the USAD she worked as a secretary at the Melrose-Carmel Presbyterian Church in Melrose Park, PA. She was an avid fan of the Phillies and loved to listen to classical music, especially the opera. Her love of cats earned her the nickname Cat Woman. She will be remembered for being a sweet, kind person to everyone she met. She was loved and respected by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Survived by her niece Barbara J. Lowden, grand nieces and nephews; Nancy Lynn McIntyre (Paul), Brooke Borregard, Karen Price (Frank), David Lowden (Megan), and great grand nieces and nephews; Matthew, Andrew, Ella, Allie, Christopher, Chase, Luke, Addison, Logan and Ethan. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph Alexander Martin, and Mary Martin Hartmann and sister Jane Judd and niece Nancy Borregard. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family at Hillside Cemetery in Abington, PA.
