Joan Prather Gilliland, age 80 went home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2007. Born and raised in Excelsior Springs, MO she lived in Ephrata, PA and moved to Pitman in 1989. She worked for Kansas Color Press in Lawrence, KS from 1967-1976 and Science Press in Ephrata, PA from 1977 to her retirement in 1989. She was a member of Faith Alliance Church in Sewell, NJ. She enjoyed playing in many Bridge Leagues and swimming at the YMCA.
She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. R.W. Prather of Excelsior Springs, MO and wife of the late Paul A. Survived by children Randy Wiles of Lawrence, KS, Bill (Nancy) Wiles of Des Moines, IA, Mary (Doug) Donaldson of Pitman, Paula Gilliland of Woodbury, Pat (Sandy)McNeil of FL, Les (Pam) Gilliland of Australia, Terri (Ken) High of Springfield, MO, Tina (Mike) Keith of Warrensburg, MO, brother Bill Prather of Liberty, MO, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Friends and family may call on Saturday at 10am in Faith Alliance Church, 423 Barnsboro Rd., Sewell, NJ 08080. Funeral service will be at 11am. Private interment will be held on Monday. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Faith Alliance Church at the address above.
