Obituary of Roderic J. Higgins

Roderic J. Higgins, age 85 years, of Ewan, died Jan. 24, at his home. Born in Philadelphia, he lived most of his life in Wash. Twp., NJ before moving to Ewan 11 years ago. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corps and owned Higgins Restaurant on Haverford Ave. in Philadelphia. He also served as director for the Water and Sewer Dept. at Bells Lake in Wash. Twp., and drove the Senior Citizen bus for the township. Rod was kind, generous, and helpful to all, caring for everyone selflessly. He made us laugh in a way that revealed his goodness and pure heart. He was a man who kept giving of himself, never expecting anything in return except goodwill toward all. Survived by his daughter Judith (Eli) Marsh of South Gibson, PA. Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 10:30 AM to 11 AM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Memorial service at 11 AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Phila., PA.
