Obituary of William F. Brod

William F. Brod, age 79 years of Pitman, died March 17 at Hahnemann Univ. Hosp., Phila. PA. He was born and raised in the Kensington section of Phila. (K&A), graduated from Northeast High School and had been a resident of Pitman for over 40 years. He was a proud Korean War veteran, who served in the Air Force from 1948 to 1952. He was stationed in Japan and Korea, and received many ribbons and medals based on his military service. He worked at the Phila. Naval Shipyard for 32 years, retiring in 1985 as Supply Foreman. He was a member of Pitman VFW Post # 6469 and American Legion Elwood Kindle Post # 49. In his retirement years, he became accomplished in wood carving and stained glass, producing many lovely pieces to adorn his home. Married in 1957, he was the beloved husband of 50 years to Jeanette Jean (nee Borron). Devoted father of Linda Susan Osoinach and husband John of Newark, DE, Karen Ann Murphy and companion Victor Dunn of Pitman, William John Brod and wife Michele of Woodbury Hts.. Loving grandfather of Jennifer Jean Murphy, James Joseph Murphy, Jr., John Andrew Dunn, Samantha Krystine and William Christopher Brod. Friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 22 after 9:30 AM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Funeral service at 11 AM. Interment Hillcrest Mem. Park.
