Obituary of Mary Theresa Shinn

Mary Theresa Shinn (nee Clerkin), age 85 years, of Pitman, died March 30 in the Health Care Ctr. at Washington Twp.. Born in Wilmington, DE, she was a graduate of West Phila. Catholic H.S. in 1940 and had lived in Pitman for over 55 years. She was employed by W.T. Grants for 16 years and McClellans Dress Shop for 15 years. She was the owner of Marys Candy Kitchen, making homemade candy which she sold at Easter and Christmas. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, American Legion Ladies Aux., VFW Ladies Aux., and past president of the Gold Star Mothers. Survived by her sons Francis (Darcy) of Lakeland FL, Michael (Frances) of Upland, CA, Carl (Alice) of Pitman, adopted son Thomas Toms (Peggy) of Barrington, NJ, 9 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Catherine Hopps of Phila., PA. Predeceased by her son Thomas. Friends are invited to call on Wednesday after 7 PM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
