Ada Hendrickson Hammel, 97 years of age, a lifelong resident of Pitman, passed away at the Pitman Manor on August 5th, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband Norman Hammel and great grandson Philip Grey Hammel.
She is survived by her dear friend Mary Somers, sister-law Vivian Hendrickson, son Richard James and Lois Hammel of North Carolina, daughter Lois and Red Engle of Pitman, grandchildren James Hammel of Georgia, Bob Hammel of Texas, John and Sharon Hammel of North Carolina, Jane and Craig Adams of New York and Carol and Bob Weinhardt of Pitman. Great grandchildren Sara, Candace Hammel, Christopher Hammel, Jesse and Lauren Hammel, Robert and Jay Weinhardt, Michele, Timmy and Nathan Adams.
She was a graduate of Pitman High School in 1929 and the Glassboro Normal School in 1931. She taught school at Atco, Franklinville, Aura and retired from Pine Hill. She was a member of Faith Alliance Church and a faithful Sunday School teacher.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Faith Alliance Church, 423 Barnsboro Rd., Sewell, NJ 08080.
The service will be at the Faith Alliance Church on Saturday, August 9 at 10:30am, preceded by visiting time from 9:30-10:30am.
