Erik D. Nielsen, age 88 died on July 9, 2008. Born in Denmark he lived in Pitman for over 60 years. He worked for Independence Pier Co. in Philadelphia as a marine mechanic.
Erik was married to Rose B. (nee Hejduck) for 48 years until her death in 1993.
He is survived by his brother Ole Nielsen, sisters Iris Soerensen and Rita Jensen all of Denmark, and his friend Eva Hasher of Pitman.
Friends may call on Monday after 10am in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be at 11am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. Those desiring may make a contribution the the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, 1200 Delsea Dr, Clayton, NJ 08312.
