Obituary of Gertrude H. Valentine

Gertrude H. Valentine (nee Reeves), age 98 died on October 24, 2008 at the Godfrey House in Berryville, where she lived for the past year. She was born and raised in Germantown, PA and moved to Pitman in 1928. She lived with her grand daughter in Winchester, VA since 1998. Prior to starting her family, Gertrude worked as a milliner for Stetson Hat Co. in Philadelphia. She was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pitman where she was formerly a very active volunteer in the Kitchen Ministry. She also was a previous volunteer at Underwood Memorial Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas S. and son Robert Scott Valentine, Sr. Survived by her daughter in law Carol Ann Adams of Winchester, grandchildren Robert Scott Valentine, Jr. of Winchester, VA, Douglas Vernon Valentine of Bellevue, NE, Kimberly Valentine Evans of Winchester, VA, Gordon Edward Valentine of Minneapolis, MN, great grandchildren R. Scott Valentine, III, William Christopher Valentine, Aimee Kathleen Valentine, Andrew Douglas Valentine, Rebekah Valentine Evans, Drew Scott Valentine, and great great granddaughter Breanna Greene Valentine. Friends may call after 9:30am on Saturday in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service 10:30am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park.
