Obituary of Joseph J. Seelaus

Joseph J. Seelaus, Jr., age 81 years, died January 15, 2009 at his residence in Pitman, NJ. Born in Phila., PA, he had been a resident of Pitman for 54 years and was affectionately known as "Mr. Joe". He was a graduate of St. Joseph's University with a degree in Business Accounting. After many years of service, he retired from the Sales Dept. of Durkee's Famous Foods, and was also employed at Bright Beginnings in the Maintenance Department. He was often seen at Maccherone Produce Market and was an avid bowler. Predeceased by his wife Louise A. (nee Houser), children Cynthia and Michael, brother Edward, and sister Agnes Seelaus. Survived by his children Joseph III (Toni Naughton) of Schenectady, NY, Karen Cooke (Al Maccherone) of Pitman, Charles (Michelle) of Souderton, PA, Kathlene (Douglas) Daisey of Franklinville, 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, brother James Seelaus, sisters Helen Hanlon, Sister Anne Seelaus OCD, Sister Marian Seelaus OCD, and Sister Vilma Seelaus OCD. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 AM in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 161 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
