Please share a memory of Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jean Lucy Wolfe (nee) Reeves, 80 years old, died of coronary failure approximately 7:00 am the morning of Tuesday, April 14, 2009. A resident of Pitman, NJ since 1962, she was a graduate of Haddon Heights High School in 1946, where she never missed a class reunion with her loving husband Edward Wolfe. They were married in 1950. She was the daughter of John and Mary (Brown) Reeves. Jean graduated from Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing, earning her RN degree in 1949. It was here she formed some of her most enduring friendships and memories. She practiced nursing full-time for several years, before having children, supporting her husband while he finished his B.A. and pursued graduate study. She continued to practice nursing part-time for many years. Her passion for nursing was in many ways the foundation for her role as loving mother of three wonderful children, Claudia Beth Wolfe Green of West Long Branch, New Jersey married to Stanton Green, Joshua Reeves Wolfe of Vienna, Virginia married to Ursula Gately Wolfe and Christopher Mines Wolfe of New Market, Maryland married to Kelly Wolfe. She continued as the family nurturer for her grandchildren, Harrison Maxwell Green, Devin Edward Green, Sophie Alletta Green, Gabriella Jean Wolfe, Olivia Reagan Wolfe and Emily Ann Wolfe. Jean is survived, as well, by her husband, Edward, her sister, Joan Reeves Caccia, her brother, John A. Reeves, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was a knowledgeable and passionate Philadelphia sports fan, especially for the Eagles and Phillies. In her love for the Phillies, she followed her father's footsteps. She also had a love for classical music and for many years had a subscription to the Philadelphia Orchestra. Among Jean's most cherished recollections were the countless times she cooked fine meals for her many family members and friends, always with flowers of the season and soft candlelight. Friends may call on Friday, April 24, after 10:00 am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Memorial service will be at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. In place of flowers, contributions may be made in Jean's name to Nurses Alumni Association, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, 130 South 9th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107, or the FORCE Retirees Scholarship Fund of Rowan University, 210 Mullica Hill Rd, Glassboro, NJ 08028.
